Compile Your AS3 Code Online Using Wonderfl

Wonderfl: Build Flash Online

On a public computer? Have you ever wanted to test ActionScript code you just found, but did not have Flash readily available. Why not run it online?

Wonderfl: Build Flash Online

Wonderfl is a tool that let’s you write and compile AS3 code right in your browser. Not only will it compile your AS3 code, this tool will also provide warnings/errors. Also, you are able to view the final results of your SWF in a window right next to your code.

It’s hard to see this tool being used on a regular basis but it does show some potential. There also looks to be a community based around Wonderfl.  If I am every stranded from Flash, I know where to go for a quick fix.

Rombla: A Full Featured Flash Site Creation Tool

A Full Featured Flash Site Creation Tool

Using Flash to create Flash

Rombla is a full-featured flash-site creation tool. It gives you every tool you’d need to build a simple site in flash, and gives your clients complete control to make their own updates to those simple things like phone numbers and addresses they hate paying you to fix.

It’s a great, innovative tool however, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that this app will remove you from the Flash IDE.  I can see it being used to rapidly create Flash mock-ups.  Check it out for yourself!

Beginning November 5, 2008, Aviary will be available in three subscription plans: Free, Green, and Blue.  All three plans provide a more customized solution to fit your creativity.  However, to be honest the free plan is looking pretty good right as it offers a lot of inviting features for those simply looking to caught up with this new, innovative tool.

What applications are currently available?

In total, Aviary plans to offer 15 unique and innovative online applications as part of their suite.  At the moment, there are 4 applications, Peacock,  Phoenix, Raven and Toucan, currently available for full alpha/beta use.   Aviary plans to release more info as it comes on the status of the other 11 applications.   If you are interested on being one of the few indivduals to gain early access to these applications in progress, I’d suggest looking into their “blue” plan.

Overal, Aviary’s launching of its suite has simply opened up a new genre of web applications that will soon begin to really challenge desktop applications everywhere.

I am extremely excited for the new web app that has recently hit mainstream. This web app, Blist, is a Web-based database with a Flash interface running against a SQL back end. It represents itself as a spreadsheet tool, but with the capabilities to add images, documents, lists, options, and icons to an individual cell that is created. It’s intention is to become the easiest database Rich Internet Application to hit the mainstream market.

If after watching the video, you become as excited as I am then visit Blist to catch an early Beta registration.
