25 Line Contest Winner: Game Rendered in ASCI
Results are in
Earlier last month Keith Peters revealed the final 12 contestants from the November/December 25 line contest. If you haven’t heard the results are in and the winner is a fellow named Marius. Marius created a platform game rendered in ASCII in a Flash text field with a custom copy/paste engine.
Source code is available
If you are curious on how these 25 liners were created, Keith recently posted the source code to all 80+ files. Definitely worth downloaded as you might be surprised on how some of these 25 liners were created.

Looking to keep busy this week? Mad Vertices has just begun it’s first Papervision3D contest. The goal of this contest is to create a soccer ball using Papervision3D.
As with every contest, there are prizes involved and they are:
1st Place: Swift 3D v5 (Provided by Erain.com)
2nd Place: $75 Amazon.com Gift Card
3rd Place: $25 Amazon.com Gift Card
It is always fun when there are prizes involved but I think getting the exposure would be great for any aspiring Flash/Papervision3D developer. I’d be interested to know if you or someone you know enters this contest. Have fun!
For more information on this contest, head over to Mad Vertices blog.

Earlier last month Keith Peters announced a newly revived ActionScripting contest called “What can you do in 25 lines of code?”. This new contest is meant to see what people could come up with using these new tools that have been introduced over the years with the latest being Flash CS4.
The finalists for the November/December contest have been chosen and I have to say so far I am impressed. Support your fellow community members and vote for your most favorite 25 lines of code.

So what can you do with 25 lines of ActionScript code? Keith Peters, the face of BIT-101, speaks of a challenge to the Flash community that’ll simply test the creativity of a Flash programmers everywhere. The idea of this contest is to create your most creative code in 25 lines of code or less.
Now before everyone scraps together their best code, the full details of this contest has yet to be revealed as the contest does not start until the new version of Flash releases. As the new version of Flash will provide a new 3D API and drawing API, these new tools will prove to provide very creative results once the contest begins. One main goal that Keith points out is that the final file is of pure 25 lines of code. (NO IMPORTED ASSETS)
