I can't seem to get it to make calls I dialed the number, but the call button does nothing - is this feature really true? Do I have to be logged into Ribbit first? And how do I get a Ribbit user name and password - (couldn't find it on ribbit.com)?

Bonus question, the browser works, but how do you zoom in and out? (obviously doesn't support multitouch, so I thought maybe I could click and drag left to right or right to left to zoom in out out - apparently not)

That's a great unique idea. Having a mess around on the browser based one, good job!
