Adobe Top Ten in Open Source
Posted on 29 December 2007.
According to CNET News.com, Adobe is ranked in the top ten for open source.
With the open-source release of its Flex tool for Flash programming, this puts Adobe a top of the list of most influential companies distributing open source software. Here is what CNET News.com had to say about our beloved software maker:
Adobe Systems was one. It’s long been a powerful proprietary-software company, but its acquisition of Macromedia led to a new sharing ethos. Shortly after a major donation of script-execution code to the Mozilla Foundation last year, Adobe announced in April the open-source release of its Flex tool for Flash programming.
Congrats to Adobe and the year they’ve had; can’t wait to see what the new year will bring.
