What is a mashup?
Mashups are AFComponents way of combining several of their AS3 components to create an application. There are many fantastic Flash components available on the web, however, it can be a little hard to picture some of them being used as real world applications. AFComponents helps by creating these mashups to show their users that more can be done with their components. This is great for the Flash stock community as we see more and more redundant components being made every day. This is AFComponents way of stepping out of the crowd.
How do Mashups work?
Upon purchasing a mashup, you receive the components required and the necessary code to create the mashup as they will be added to your account and can be used separately on future projects. Also, it is important to note that you typically spend less if purchased individually.

Has afcomponents.com gone out of business? Their website has been taken down. I discovered this trying to get support on already purchased products.

@Christine, I wouldn’t worry about AFComponents. I’ve noticed that their site was down as well. It’s probably being upgraded, but they are definitely not going out of business.
